Jason Baker is a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas. He and his wife, Stephanie, have
raised a family of four and built a life rooted in community, compassion, and faith. Jason
is a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and a true friend to all who know him.

He graduated from Nederland High School in 1991 and went on to earn his RN degree
from Lamar University. Throughout his career, Jason has served in a variety of roles
across the Southeast Texas medical community, touching countless lives with his
dedication and care.

In February 2022, Jason was diagnosed with stage 4 Adenocarcinoma colon cancer.
Soon after, he learned the cancer had spread to his liver and both lungs. Over the past
three years, he has endured eight abdominal surgeries, three liver surgeries, and an
uncountable number of chemotherapy treatments. With the unwavering support of his
loved ones, Jason continued working until late 2024, when the side effects of treatment
made it no longer possible.

Currently, Jason is participating in a Phase I clinical trial at MD Anderson. This requires
multiple weekly appointments in Houston, often involving overnight stays and travel-
related expenses.

Despite the challenges, Jason remains strong in spirit. His journey has been marked by
resilience, hope, and the unshakeable support of his faith, family, and friends. He
continues to fight with courage and a positive attitude, determined to overcome every
obstacle in his path.
