There will be an online random drawing when the 100 chances are sold. Again, There is no physical raffle ticket. All names from the sales will be added the appropriate number of times for the number of chances bought.
 
Theresa is a 54 year old lifelong resident of Mid County and a 1988 Graduate of Nederland High School.  She has worked in property management for 25 years and has spent many years volunteering in the community and mentoring youth.  She is the Co-Founder of Krewe de Los Borrachos, a 501c7 Non-Profit organization, which lends their time and talents to other non-profit organizations within the community. 
In August of 2024, a routine mammogram showed a suspicious mass which was soon diagnosed as Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma affecting lymph nodes in her left arm. Theresa began receiving the first of 16 rounds of chemotherapy on October 3, 2024.  Her 16th and final round of chemo will be on March 27, 2025 with surgery for a bi-lateral mastectomy scheduled for the middle of April 2025 followed by radiation therapy.  
While Theresa has been blessed to be able to keep working full time throughout her entire treatment, monthly medical expenses, copays, lab costs and the increased cost of her health insurance has become a financial stressor.  She can be found each Thursday hooked up to chemotherapy while also having her work laptop overseeing four properties in two states.  Even while dealing with her own cancer battle, Theresa organized a wishlist for the other chemo and infusion patients of the Cancer Center of Southeast Texas Port Arthur Campus.  She organized to collect sweet and savory snacks, beanies, hand warmers, and puzzle books for her fellow infusion and chemo friends.  She's often heard saying "many hands make for light work" and tries to fill needs as she sees them.
